HSE at SMK Eng

We accept that our activities will in some way will affect the environment. We accept that we contribute to cumulative actions that cause measurable effects. With this in mind we will seek to minimise the adverse contribution that our activities cause by adopting the following:-

  1. We prioritise work place safety by operating in strict compliance with current UK legislative standards.
  2. We operate under CDM regulation on complex sites serving competently as a contractor.
  3. Written method statements and risk assessments (RAMS) are issued for every job we are contracted to do which are overseen by a 3rd party health and safety advisor. This also includes risk assessment for all activities within our workshops.
  4. All our lifting equipment is tested in accordance with PUWER and LOLER regulations.
  5. We manage exposure to hazardous substances under COSHH regulations including welding fumes, dusts and chemicals.
  6. All machinery can only be operated by trained personnel.
  7. Our workforce is issued with all PPE for the tasks they perform. These include but not limited to overalls, safety footwear, eye protection, hearing protection, fume and dust protection, gloves.
  8. We combine occupational health and industrial environmental managements systems to limit commercial pollution.
  9. All waste is disposed of strictly according to legal hazardous wate disposal statutes.
